Giving & Receiving Feedback

Feedback can be provided by anyone you work with. It can, and should, be provided up, down and sideways as everyone needs feedback to grow and develop. A very common concern of many staff members however, is a lack of regular, clear and fair feedback about their job performance. Workshop participants gain skills and confidence to provide timely, constructive and effective feedback.

Participants explore the essential elements of effective feedback and have the opportunity to practice giving and receiving feedback using scenarios.

  • What is feedback and what makes it effective?
  • Formal and informal feedback styles
  • Constructive vs destructive feedback
  • Managing negative feedback and reactions including defensiveness in self and others
