Meet Natina

Natina started her career as a counsellor in 2007, working in Katherine, Northern Territory. Following the completion of a Graduate Diploma of Narrative Therapy in 2010, Narrative therapy has been a cornerstone of her therapeutic approach. This is a strengths-based approach that centers the clients own expertise and knowledge in regard to the problems they experience. She joined the EASA team in 2012 and further developed her professional skills by completing a provisional psychology internship with EASA over 2 years resulting in registration as a General Psychologist.

Throughout her counselling work in the Territory, she has had the opportunity to work with Indigenous and non-Indigenous families in remote communities throughout the Top End. She loves the diversity of our clients’ needs and utilises therapies that are highly creative and transformative including Sand Tray Therapy), Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy and inner child work. Recently she has developed her knowledge and skills in the area of trauma so her therapeutic approach also includes Eye Movement & Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). Natina uses an integrated and diverse approach based on the fundamental principles of Narrative Therapy, IFS and EMDR.
